Supaul Police Seize Ganja Worth Rs 5.2 Lakh, Smuggler Escapes

Police in Supaul recovered 13 kg of ganja worth Rs 5.2 lakh after a smuggler fled, with efforts underway to track down the suspect.

Supaul: On June 3, police in Supaul seized 13 kilograms of ganja valued at around Rs 5.2 lakh in the Veerpur police station area. The drug was packed in white plastic crates and recovered along with a motorcycle used for smuggling. The smuggler escaped on foot when police approached.

Officials said the ganja was being smuggled from Nepal and was likely to be distributed via Koyli village. Veerpur Police Station Officer Rajkishore Mandal led the operation following a tip-off.

The suspect abandoned the motorcycle and crates on the roadside before fleeing into nearby fields. Despite a police chase, he managed to get away. Authorities are now investigating possible hideouts and identifying the smuggler through the bike’s registration details.
