Patna: ISKCON Patna is set to host a grand celebration for Sri Krishna Janmashtami, with a series of events spanning three days, starting from August 25. This year’s festival will be themed around Vrindavan, with the temple’s decorations featuring flowers imported from Thailand, Bangkok, and Kolkata.
The main celebration, or Mahamotsav, will take place on August 26, with darshan beginning at 7:15 am and continuing throughout the day until 2:00 am the following night. Devotees will have the opportunity to participate in the darshan and offer garlands, with special guests also expected to contribute to the festivities. Following the darshan, Mahaprasad will be distributed to all attendees.
Krishna Kripa Das, the temple president, highlighted that the first day of the celebrations will feature a cultural program, including a performance of Sri Krishna Leela by world-renowned dancer Veronica Dashnayaka.
On August 27, the temple will observe the Prabhupada Avirbhaav Mahotsav from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm. The event will include Mahabhishek, Prabhupad Yogasana, Aarti, garland offerings, and the distribution of Mahaprasad. A special offering of 56 bhogs will also be made to the Lord.
Security arrangements for the event will be stringent, with three layers of checks for all devotees and monitoring through CCTV cameras. Passes are required for the Abhishek ceremony, and no parking will be available inside the temple premises. To accommodate vehicles, parking has been arranged near the BJP office, Maurya Complex, and Miller School. Additionally, one lane of Buddha Marg will be closed to traffic, with only the other lane remaining open, and large buses and autos will not be permitted on this route.
