St. Karen’s Secondary School, Patna Ignites Ambitions with ‘IGNITE ’23’ Career Fair

PATNA – St. Karen’s Secondary School, Patna is hosting a two-day Career Fair ‘IGNITE ’23’ on Saturday and Sunday. Over 50 esteemed universities and colleges from around the country, including institutions like Amity University, Ashoka University, Jindal Global University, the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India, Pearl Academy, Lovely Professional University, Chandigarh Group
of Colleges, Chitkara University, and Mahindra University and so on are actively participating by setting up informative kiosks to provide valuable career guidance.

The event commenced with an inauguration by the Chief Guest, Abhyanand, former DGP Bihar, who addressed the audience, emphasizing the abundance of opportunities available to them. He encouraged the students to seize these opportunities to achieve their goals and highlighted the privilege they have in accessing such valuable guidance.

Edward Galstaun, the Joint Director of St. Karen’s Group of Schools, echoed this sentiment in his address, urging students to maximize the use of available resources, to be innovative, and prepare for the challenges associated with choosing their career paths and dream colleges.

The fair featured active student engagement through activities such as Slogan Writing and Caricature Making Competitions. Additionally, reputed universities offered on-the-spot career counselling, providing students with personalized guidance. About 20 reputed schools from the city participated in the career fair. The career fair served as a platform for students to explore a myriad of career options, facilitating one-on-one interactions with representatives from different universities. This
interaction allowed students to gain insights into various academic streams, some familiar and some unexplored.

Reflecting on the experience, Aman Ranjan, a student of class 12 (Humanities), described the Career Fair as “fascinating” and a “once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.” Rishav Sinha of class 11 expressed gratitude for the chance to explore possibilities and pursue their life’s ambitions. The event, by providing a comprehensive exposure to diverse career paths, proved instrumental in guiding students towards informed decisions about their future endeavours.

GIRL STUDENTS

Jhanvi Bhargava from Delhi Public School, Patna said that she wanted to explore her options further and IGNITE ’23 gave her a chance to explore many courses in different Universities. It was a One-Stop point for her. Hardik of St. Dominic Savio High School said that there were diverse career options related to different streams which were unknown to them. Pragya Bharti of St. Karen’s High School expressed her gratitude for the wonderful opportunity that the school has provided.

Shashwat, a student from the Physics, Chemistry, Maths (PCM) stream of St. Karen’s High School shared that the career fair was both engaging and enlightening. The array of technical courses captured his interest, particularly in Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) with a focus on Artificial Intelligence, and Electrical Engineering (ECL) with a specialization in embedded systems and robotics. He is currently in the process of considering both options.
