SUV Overturns in Muzaffarpur After Returning from Maha Kumbh, 5 Dead, 4 Critical
Muzaffarpur: A tragic road accident occurred on Saturday near Madhubani village in the Sadar police station area of Muzaffarpur, claiming the lives of five individuals and leaving four others seriously injured. The incident involved a high-speed Scorpio car that overturned while attempting to avoid a bike rider.
The victims, all residents of Mohtari in Nepal, were returning from the Mahakumbh bath when the accident took place. According to local sources, a group of young men was performing stunts on their bike on the four-lane road when the Scorpio, travelling at speeds of up to 100 km/h, appeared in front of them. In an attempt to avoid the bikers, the Scorpio struck the divider and flipped multiple times, resulting in the fatal injuries of five people. The deceased included three women and two men.
Upon hearing the crash, nearby residents rushed to the scene and informed the authorities. They assisted in rescuing the injured, who were immediately transported to the local hospital. Among the four injured was a child, who was admitted to the Sri Krishna Medical College and Hospital (SKMCH).
The Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) reported that the airbags of the vehicle did not deploy during the crash, leading to more severe injuries. The cause of the accident remains under investigation, but authorities are emphasizing the dangers of reckless driving and stunts on public roads.
