Patna: In a significant development, Tata Consulting Engineers Limited has entered into an agreement with Mahavir Mandir Trust to extend its expertise in overseeing the construction of the Virat Ramayan Mandir in East Champaran, Bihar. This comes as the company already supervises the construction of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi temple in Ayodhya.
The agreement, formalized between Tata Consulting Engineers Limited and Mahavir Temple Trust, was announced by Mahavir Temple Trust Secretary Acharya Kishore Kunal during a press conference at Mahavir Mandir on Wednesday. Under this agreement, Tata Consulting Engineers Limited will serve as the Project Management Consultant (PMC) for the Virat Ramayan Mandir, overseeing quality, timeliness, technology, and other aspects of the construction.
Saurabh Mule, General Manager of Tata Consulting Engineers Limited, assured that the company would diligently supervise the quality, safety, design, and timeline of the Virat Ramayan Mandir on behalf of Mahavir Mandir Trust. He emphasized the company’s commitment to overcoming any technical obstacles during the construction process.
The Virat Ramayan Mandir, located on the Ram-Janaki road between Kesariya-Chakia, spans an impressive 140 acres. The main temple, an architectural marvel, will be 1080 feet long, 540 feet wide, and 270 feet high, making it the world’s largest temple. A unique feature of the temple is the inclusion of a 33 feet high and 33 feet circular Shivalinga, named Sahasralingam, which will weigh a monumental 200 metric tons.
Tata Consulting Engineers Limited will be responsible for overseeing the entire design process, including mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and landscaping aspects of the Virat Ramayan Mandir. The company will also extend its supervision to the construction of additional facilities, such as marriage hall, canteen, Dharamshala, and more.
Speaking at the press conference, Acharya Kishore Kunal expressed confidence in Tata Consulting Engineers Limited, assuring that the Virat Ramayan Mandir’s quality and timeliness are guaranteed under their supervision. He disclosed that the temple is expected to be completed by the year 2025.
The Virat Ramayan Mandir project, which commenced its piling work on June 20 of this year, involves the use of modern machines imported from abroad. By March of the following year, all 3102 piles for the temple are expected to be completed, marking a significant milestone in the temple’s construction.
