Patna: A teenage boy died by suicide on Wednesday night in the Alamganj area of Patna, police said.
The incident took place within the jurisdiction of Alamganj Police Station, where the boy was found hanging inside his room at home.
According to family members, the child was a Class II student at a private school.
Parents Were Away At Work
Family members told police that the boy’s parents were working at a shop at the time of the incident. Only the child and his five-year-old younger brother were reportedly present at home.
Police said the boy allegedly locked himself inside a room during this period.
When the parents returned home later in the evening, they discovered him hanging.
The family rushed him to Nalanda Medical College Hospital, where doctors declared him dead.
Police Begin Investigation
Police conducted a postmortem examination before handing over the body to the family.
Rahul Kumar Thakur, station house officer of Alamganj police station, said police had been informed about the incident and an investigation was under way.
Officials said the reason behind the suicide remains unclear.
