Bhagalpur: A minor girl was allegedly gang-raped in Bihar’s Bhagalpur district after attending a religious ceremony, with the perpetrators fleeing the scene when she lost consciousness. The incident has left the local community in Kahalgaon block stunned.
The victim, accompanied by two other girls from her village, had gone to a puja in Diyara. As darkness fell, a group of boys reportedly lured the minor girl away before committing the heinous crime. They abandoned her after she fainted. Her companions raised an alarm, drawing a crowd of villagers to the scene.
While villagers initially apprehended some of the suspects, they managed to escape. Four youths are believed to have been involved in the incident.
The victim’s family has since taken her to Bhagalpur for medical treatment. Although a formal police complaint has not yet been filed, authorities were alerted to the incident. Police officials, including the station in-charge and SDPO Kalyan Anand, confirmed the events and stated they have detained three youths for interrogation following raids based on information gathered from the girl’s family and villagers.
