Patna: Former Bihar minister Tej Pratap Yadav has accused Anushka’s brother, Akash Yadav, of attempting to tarnish his image by circulating photos online, branding him a “Jaichand” — a reference to the medieval king associated with betrayal.

In a series of posts on X, the elder son of Lalu Prasad Yadav claimed the circulation of his photographs was part of a larger plot to end his political career. “These Jaichands do not know yet that my name is Tej Pratap Yadav. Our political life will not end because of small people like you, rather we will move forward with more strength,” he wrote.

He added that his supporters would continue to engage with voters through his organisation, Team Tej Pratap Yadav, and said he intended to contest future elections. “Now whoever has a complaint should come to the field and fight against us,” he declared.

A video accompanying the post showed him alleging that attempts were being made to defame him with fake and viral images. “These people are seeing that we are moving forward, so they want to cut our wings,” he said.

Alongside the personal accusations, Tej Pratap issued a pointed warning to his younger brother and Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Tejashwi Yadav, urging him to be wary of “Jaichands” in his circle. Sharing a clip of Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s visit with Tejashwi, he questioned whether the duo were working to “save democracy or to tear it apart”.

He also condemned an alleged altercation involving RJD MP Sanjay Yadav and the bodyguard of Vijay Kumar Singh, an RJD MLA from Nabinagar, during which a journalist and the MLA’s driver were reportedly manhandled. “If people who talk about democracy are behaving like this with their own workers and officials, then one can imagine how they will behave with the common people,” he said, calling the incident “shameful and condemnable”.

Warning Tejashwi of political consequences, he said: “There is still time, be careful of the Jaichands around you, otherwise you will have to pay a heavy price in the coming elections. Now the election result will decide how wise you are.”
