Patna: Tej Pratap Yadav has triggered fresh political and social media chatter after making veiled remarks about Chirag Paswan and his alleged proximity to actor-turned-politician Kangana Ranaut.
Speaking in an interview, Yadav, known for his outspoken style, suggested that Paswan was “involved with a heroine”, without initially naming anyone. Pressed further, he later identified Ranaut, referring to her campaign appearances and public visibility. “Everyone knows which heroine has been making the rounds,” he said, in comments that quickly circulated online.
Yadav added that the two were “often seen together”, fuelling speculation, though he acknowledged he was unaware of the true nature of their relationship.
During the same conversation, the Janshakti Janata Dal leader also offered unsolicited advice on Paswan’s personal life, suggesting that unmarried politicians should consider marriage. His remarks appeared to extend, indirectly, to other high-profile figures including Rahul Gandhi.
Ranaut has previously addressed similar speculation, stating that her relationship with Paswan is limited to friendship. In a light-hearted response, she remarked that if there had been anything more, “we would have children by now.”
Paswan and Ranaut share a professional history, having appeared together in the 2011 Hindi film Miley Naa Miley Hum. Their occasional appearances together in public, including within the parliament complex, have repeatedly drawn attention on social media.
Yadav’s comments, delivered with a mix of humour and insinuation, have once again blurred the line between political discourse and personal lives, prompting debate over how far public figures’ private relationships should be subject to political commentary.
