Patna: Tej Pratap Yadav, eldest son of former Bihar chief minister Lalu Prasad Yadav, has once again drawn attention with a highly theatrical display, this time on the fashion front. A recent video circulated by his social media team shows him walking a ramp in traditional dhoti-kurta attire, a performance that quickly went viral online.
Known for his unconventional appearances and statements, Tej Pratap has previously captured headlines by dressing as Lord Krishna, adopting saffron robes, and making symbolic gestures, such as cycling to his ministry office.
The latest spectacle coincides with his political reinvention. Following his expulsion from the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), Tej Pratap launched a new party, the Janshakti Janata Dal, naming himself national president. The party, which features a blackboard as its election symbol, promotes the slogan: “Social Justice, Social Rights, and Total Change,” signalling his intent to carve a distinct path from his father’s political legacy.
Tej Pratap has also announced his candidacy for the Mahua assembly seat as an independent, a move that could reshape Bihar’s political landscape and further underscore tensions within the state’s prominent political family.
