Patna: JJD leader Tej Pratap Yadav has been accused of kidnapping and conspiring to murder a former party spokesperson, Santosh Renu Yadav, who filed a formal complaint at the Shri Krishnapuri (SK Puri) police station.
Santosh alleges that on February 4, Yadav and his supporters lured him under the pretext of handing over a wedding invitation card, only to forcibly take him to Yadav’s residence on Hardinge Road. There, he claims he was held captive while a plot against his life was allegedly discussed.
Station House Officer Jitendra Rana confirmed that the complaint has been registered and an investigation is ongoing. “We have received a written application from the complainant. We are collecting information and contacting relevant individuals,” he said.

According to Santosh, the situation was only defused when Ashutosh Kumar, a leader of the Bhumihar Brahmin Ekta Manch, arrived at the residence. He alleged that Yadav tried to placate him by offering a position as a Member of the Legislative Council (MLC) and urging him to rejoin the party.
Santosh further claims that he was forced to wear a party cap and smile for photographs, warning that, without timely intervention, he could have been murdered. He said that several individuals, including Motilal Rai, Shambhu Yadav, and Baijnath Yadav, were involved in the plot.
The allegations come amid an ongoing dispute between Santosh and Tej Pratap, who had filed his own complaint against Santosh in recent weeks. Santosh, who recently left the Jan Shakti Janata Dal, has described the conflict as a months-long feud.
Police have not confirmed any arrests and said that the investigation is at an early stage.
