Patna: RJD leader Tej Pratap Yadav on Sunday said the BJP would return to power in Uttar Pradesh, making a statement that has drawn attention within political circles due to his position within the opposition camp.
Tej Pratap made the remarks during his visit to the Kashi Vishwanath Temple and the Maa Vindhyavasini Temple, where he offered prayers for his family, Bihar and the country.
Visit to Temples in Uttar Pradesh
Tej Pratap arrived in Uttar Pradesh on Sunday and visited the temples in Varanasi and Vindhyachal. He later shared photographs from the visit on social media.
Speaking to reporters, he said he had prayed for the happiness and prosperity of his parents, siblings and the people of Bihar, along with peace and harmony across the country.
He described visiting the Kashi Vishwanath Temple as a significant moment in his life and said he had also prayed for social peace and public well-being.
Remarks on UP Politics
During his interaction with the media in Vindhyachal, Tej Pratap commented on the political situation in Uttar Pradesh and said he did not support Akhilesh Yadav.
He further said that the government led by Yogi Adityanath would return to power in the state and that the BJP would secure a third consecutive term.
The statement has triggered discussion because Tej Pratap belongs to the family of RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav, whose party is part of the opposition alliance at the national level.
