Patna: Tej Pratap Yadav, leader of Janshakti Janata Dal (JJD), has sought heightened security after alleging a threat to his life from a former associate. Yadav confirmed he contacted Bihar’s Deputy Chief Minister, Samrat Choudhary, who also oversees the state’s home department, requesting immediate intervention.

In a written complaint to Patna’s Secretariat police station, Yadav accused Santosh Renu Yadav, spokesperson for the Janshakti Janata Dal and once considered close to him, of posing a danger. Relations between the two have reportedly deteriorated sharply, with recent exchanges on social media intensifying tensions.

Police have acknowledged receipt of the complaint and initiated an inquiry. Officers are examining statements and recent activities linked to Santosh Renu Yadav as part of the preliminary investigation. No arrests or charges have been announced.

The episode has stirred conversation in Bihar’s political circles, where the high-profile nature of the case is likely to test the government’s response. How the administration handles Yadav’s appeal for protection could have implications across the state’s already fractious political landscape.
