Patna: Leader of Opposition in Bihar Tejashwi Prasad Yadav on Tuesday launched his ‘Bihar Adhikar Yatra’, declaring it a campaign to highlight people’s issues and hold both the Centre and state government to account.
The journey, which will begin in Jehanabad and conclude in Vaishali, is expected to traverse several districts. “We will go to different districts of Bihar, know the problems of the people and take their voice to the House and the streets,” Tejashwi told supporters.
In a sharp attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the RJD leader dismissed recent remarks on infiltration in Bihar, asking who should be held accountable. “Modi ji has been in power at the Centre for 11 years and NDA has ruled Bihar for 20 years. If infiltration is taking place, who is responsible for it?” he asked. He accused the BJP of raising the issue opportunistically, first in Jharkhand elections and now in Bihar. “The public has understood these things and will give an answer when the time comes,” he said.
Tejashwi also addressed the FIR filed against him in Darbhanga, calling it an act of political vendetta allegedly engineered by a minister. “I am standing right here, tell the police to take me away. Is this democracy or jungle raj?” he asked. The case emerged after Tejashwi visited Darbhanga to meet a YouTuber who accused minister Jibesh Kumar of using abusive language and assault.
The RJD leader accused the NDA government of sheltering “lewd ministers” and warned that the people would oust them in the upcoming elections. “The situation in Bihar has become very bad and now the public wants change,” he said.
