Mokama: Opposition leader Tejashwi Prasad Yadav intensified his Bihar Adhikar Yatra on Wednesday with a symbolic horseback roadshow in Mokama, seen as a show of strength in Anant Singh’s bastion. Later, in Bakhtiyarpur, he accused chief minister Nitish Kumar of running a “tired, copycat government” that replicates the Grand Alliance’s schemes without addressing people’s real concerns.
Calling smart prepaid electricity meters “cheater meters”, Tejashwi alleged that consumers were being burdened with inflated bills while the government ignored their plight. He charged the NDA with shielding criminals and corrupt figures, and said the coalition was conspiring with the Election Commission to undermine voting rights in Bihar.
At the rally, Tejashwi promised that a Grand Alliance government would bring jobs, improve healthcare, and curb migration. He vowed that his party would contest all 243 assembly seats, insisting that the NDA had “exposed itself” ahead of the polls.
Tejashwi’s yatra, which began in Jehanabad on Tuesday, is scheduled to conclude in Vaishali on September 20, with a second phase planned after Durga Puja.
