Patna: Leader of Opposition Tejashwi Prasad Yadav held a two-hour meeting with RJD MLAs and MLCs in Patna on Wednesday to finalise election strategy, candidate selection, and review of key constituencies ahead of the Bihar Assembly elections. It was decided that Tejaswi will embark on a statewide tour starting this September, with an emphasis on ensuring that all eligible voters are included in the electoral rolls.
Senior MLA Bhai Virendra, speaking after the meeting, said, “The strategy has been finalised, and our focus is on forming the next government under Tejashwi Yadav’s leadership.”
Ahead of the meeting, Tejaswi addressed the recent controversy involving abusive remarks in politics. He said, “It is wrong to abuse someone’s mother; mothers are respected by all, and such language should not be supported.” He also criticised Prime Minister Modi, adding, “Modi himself has targeted Sonia Gandhi and raised questions on Nitish Kumar’s DNA. I was abused on camera in the assembly, and a BJP-backed official insulted our female MLA. Where was the Prime Minister then?”
Tejaswi also accused the ruling party of promoting a Bihar bandh, saying, “While the Prime Minister appeared emotional after returning from abroad, the public sees the impact of these shutdowns. Our ‘Voter Rights Yatra’ has caused restlessness in the BJP and NDA camp, but the people understand and will decide in the upcoming elections.”
