Patna: RJD Working President Tejashwi Yadav has written to the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) seeking justice for the family of 19-year-old Roshan Yadav, who died in Madhubani divisional jail on August 10.
Yadav, who wrote to the commission in his capacity as Leader of the Opposition in the Bihar assembly, described the death as a “brutal murder” and called for strict action against officials found responsible.

Tejashwi Questions Jail Administration’s Account
According to Tejashwi Yadav, the jail administration has claimed that Roshan died by suicide after hanging himself.
However, he said Roshan’s family members had reported multiple injury marks on his body and alleged that they were not given a written notice explaining the reason for his arrest.
Roshan was arrested on May 27, according to the details shared by Yadav. The RJD leader said he would raise the matter on every available platform to seek justice for the family.
Attack On Bihar Government
Yadav also launched a direct attack on the state government, alleging that Bihar’s bureaucracy had become “chaotic and uncontrolled” because of a lack of proper governance.
He criticised Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary, describing him as a “nominee” and alleging that he lacked administrative acumen.
Yadav said he would oppose any situation in which innocent citizens were allegedly made to suffer and called for accountability in the case.
Tejashwi Inspects Ganga Erosion In Raghopur
Separately, Tejashwi Yadav inspected villages along the Ganga in his Raghopur constituency following a rise in water levels and increasing soil erosion.
He reviewed erosion-affected areas and assessed the potential threat to riverside settlements.
Yadav directed officials to remain on high alert, continuously monitor water levels and erosion, and maintain coordination with local residents.
He also instructed officials to remain prepared for immediate intervention and erosion-control measures if the situation worsens.
