Patna: Thirteen days after the RJD’s heavy defeat in the Bihar Assembly elections, Tejashwi Yadav made his first public appearance on Thursday as he arrived at Patna Airport to board a flight to Delhi. But the Leader of the Opposition maintained complete silence, refusing to respond to questions from assembled journalists.
Reporters attempted to ask him about the party’s poor performance, the reasons behind the loss and the RJD’s future strategy. Tejashwi, however, walked straight into the terminal without a word, despite repeated attempts by the media to engage him.
The RJD leader has kept away from public view and avoided media interactions since the election results were declared, prompting speculation within political circles and among supporters about the party’s next steps. Analysts suggest his silence indicates a desire to assess the setback privately and reassess the party’s political course before making any public statement.
For many in the RJD, Tejashwi’s brief appearance but continued refusal to comment signals that he is not yet prepared to outline the party’s direction following the loss. His supporters and party leaders have been awaiting clarity on organisational changes, strategy and his next moves.
For now, Tejashwi Yadav’s departure to Delhi appears to underscore his intention to stay away from immediate political commentary as he contemplates the path ahead for the RJD.
