Kaimur/Patna: Telhad Kund waterfall, a renowned natural attraction in Bihar’s Kaimur district, is set to become an even more captivating destination for tourists. The state government has officially greenlit the construction of modern tourist facilities, including a glass bridge, a suspension bridge, and a watch tower, at the site. This glass bridge, estimated to cost around Rs 9 crore, will be the second of its kind in Bihar, with the first already established in Nalanda.
According to Kaimur DFO Chanchal Prakasham, the project’s construction work is slated to commence after the monsoon season, with an anticipated completion date of March 2027. The announcement of this ambitious development follows Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s recent visit to the area, which has now received formal approval.
Enhancing Natural Beauty and Tourist Experience
Telhad Kund is already famous for its cascading waterfall and picturesque misty landscapes, which have long drawn visitors. The addition of these new structures is expected to transform the area into a national-level tourist center. The glass bridge, suspension bridge, and watch tower will offer tourists spectacular and immersive views of the waterfall, enhancing the overall experience.
Furthermore, the project will incorporate facilities such as dedicated photography and selfie points, and additional viewpoints, making the visit even more special and memorable for visitors.
Economic Boost and Local Empowerment
Beyond its appeal as a tourist destination, this development is poised to significantly boost the local economy. The project is expected to create numerous employment opportunities for local youth in various sectors, including guiding, catering, handicrafts, retail shops, and lodging services.
Moreover, the initiative will provide a robust platform for women to become self-reliant through the promotion of local products and traditional crafts. This will not only elevate the identity of Kaimur district but also provide a new direction for tourism across the entire state of Bihar, fostering sustainable development in the region.
