Patna: Thieves robbed the house of a retired postmaster in Patel Nagar Sonaru, Fatuha, Patna, when the family was at the hospital. The owner, Naval Kishore Prasad Verma, had a heart attack on Wednesday evening, and his family took him to the hospital in a hurry, leaving the house locked.
On Friday afternoon, Deepak Kumar, Naval’s son, got a call from their milkman saying that the lock of their house was broken. When he reached home, he saw that the rooms were completely ransacked. The thieves stole Rs 85,000 in cash and jewellery worth around Rs 3 lakh belonging to his mother and sister-in-law.
Deepak said the thieves broke the main door lock and then searched all three rooms carefully before taking the valuables. The family is shocked and upset, as their father is already in hospital due to serious illness.
Police from Fatuha station came to the house soon after getting the information. They checked the house and have started investigating the case. Police said they will try to catch the thieves soon and recover the stolen items.
