Three Bihar Policemen Injured in Araria Attack, Bitten and Beaten by Accused and Family

Three policemen, including a station house officer, were injured in Araria district on Monday after being attacked by a group of 20 to 25 people while attempting an arrest.

Araria: In a violent escalation of resistance to law enforcement, three policemen were injured in Araria district, Bihar, on Monday when they were attacked by a group of 20 to 25 people during an arrest operation. The assault took place in Forbesganj, where the police had gone to detain a man accused of interfering in government work.

The accused, identified as Firoz, allegedly incited his family members to retaliate, resulting in a physical attack on the police team. According to officials, the mob beat the officers with sticks and even bit them during the scuffle. The incident occurred while the team was executing an encroachment removal operation on land belonging to the Forbesganj Municipal Council.

Station house officer Raghvendra Kumar Singh, Inspector Amit Raj, and Constable Laxman Kumar sustained injuries and were admitted to the sub-divisional hospital for treatment. The SHO had to brandish his service weapon to bring the situation under control.

Firoz was arrested and brought to the police station. Sub-divisional police officer Mukesh Kumar Saha confirmed that an FIR would be filed against all individuals involved in the attack.
