Tight Security and Safety Measures for Holi in Patna

Patna : Patna district administration has put stringent measures in place to ensure public safety and manage crowds during Holika Dahan and Holi. District Magistrate Dr Chandrashekhar Singh has directed officials to implement all necessary arrangements as per prescribed standards, with an emphasis on disaster preparedness.

In a bid to prevent fire-related incidents, fire brigades will be stationed at police stations and other key locations. Hospitals have also been instructed to deploy medical teams to handle any emergencies.

Authorities have imposed a complete ban on private boat operations in rivers from 14 to 15 March. Officials have been ordered to take strict action against violators. To strengthen safety measures along river ghats, the district has been divided into multiple sectors, with seven State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) teams deployed. Each team is equipped with divers, personnel, and two motorboats, along with other necessary resources.

Zonal officers have been directed to station boats, sailors, and divers—complete with life jackets and essential safety gear—at ghats and ponds under their jurisdiction.

To maintain law and order, an adequate number of magistrates and police officers will be present in public areas. Crowd management will be bolstered by CCTV surveillance and drone monitoring.

The administration has urged the public to report emergencies to the 24×7 District Control Room at 0612-2219810 / 2219234, Dial-112, or the District Emergency Operation Centre at 0612-2210118
