Patna: Patna Police have arrested Titu Dhamaka, also known as Chandan, a fugitive wanted in several criminal cases, including his alleged involvement in a shootout earlier this year targeting former MLA Anant Singh’s supporters. He was detained on Saturday in New Delhi’s Kapashera area following a tip-off.
According to Senior Superintendent of Police Kartikeya Kumar Sharma, Dhamaka is a resident of Jaitpur village under Barhiya police station in Bihar’s Lakhisarai district. He had been on the run and was hiding in the Bijwasan locality of Delhi to evade arrest.
Dhamaka is named in two cases registered at Panchmahal police station related to the firing incident in Nauranga in January, which involved clashes between Anant Singh’s supporters and the Sonu-Monu gang. In addition to these, he faces charges in at least 14 other cases, including murder, robbery and dacoity, across police stations in Bihar and Jharkhand, including Barh, Barhiya, Marachi, Viruppur, and Rikhiya.
