Muzaffarpur: Kanishka Narayan, the United Kingdom’s minister for artificial intelligence and online safety, said he still longs for the taste of litchis and mangoes from his hometown of Muzaffarpur. Speaking during his visit to Bihar, he said the flavour of Muzaffarpur’s litchis is impossible to find in Britain. The fruit, widely known for its sweetness, remains closely linked to his childhood memories.
Returning to his birthplace after nearly a quarter of a century, Narayan said he was struck by the scale of change in the state. He pointed to visible improvements in roads, infrastructure and education. According to him, Bihar today reflects steady development and renewed confidence. He said better facilities and stronger connectivity are opening new doors for young people.
At an interaction programme held at SKJ College, Narayan addressed students and spoke about the opportunities ahead. He said the ambition in the eyes of Bihar’s youth was clear and inspiring. He highlighted manufacturing as a sector with strong potential, saying it could generate employment and strengthen the economy if supported with the right policies and investment.
Narayan also stressed the need to make better use of Bihar’s water resources and skilled workforce. He noted that professionals from the state are making a mark globally in computer science, engineering and technology. As AI minister, he added that artificial intelligence could help improve governance and public services, but must be used responsibly and ethically so that technology benefits society as a whole.
