Patna: Union Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi met a delegation from the Bihar Chamber of Commerce and Industries at his Patna residence on Thursday to discuss industrial development and the expansion of micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in Bihar.
The delegation, led by Subhash Kumar Patwari, President of the Bihar Chamber of Commerce and Industries, held detailed discussions on strengthening industry and entrepreneurship in the state. The chamber members expressed gratitude to Jitan Ram, highlighting that under his leadership the MSME Ministry is playing a significant role in fortifying India’s economy.
They noted that the MSME sector generates more employment than large industries and welcomed the schemes launched by the National Democratic Alliance government under Prime Minister Narendra Modi to support small industries. The delegation stressed that most enterprises in Bihar are micro, small, and medium-sized, and urged the minister to provide a platform to address their challenges effectively.
The chamber appreciated Jitan Ram’s personal initiative in resolving issues faced by small industries. Established in 1926, the Bihar Chamber of Commerce and Industries is the state’s leading organisation of entrepreneurs and traders.
Jitan Ram thanked the delegation for working as a bridge between entrepreneurs and the government. The 10-member delegation included former president PK Agarwal, vice president Ashish Shankar, Pradeep Chaurasia, treasurer Subodh Kumar Jain, general secretary Pashupati Nath Pandey, former vice president Mukesh Kumar Jain, Ajay Kumar Gupta, Rajesh Jain, and executive member Pawan Bhagat.
