Patna: Winter conditions are expected to intensify in Bihar from the first week of December, with dense fog blanketing more than 10 cities — including Patna, Bettiah, and Gopalganj — on Sunday morning.
According to the Meteorological Department, Aurangabad has remained the coldest district for the last three days. The minimum temperature there dropped to 12.6°C in the past 24 hours, after touching 9°C three days ago.
Meanwhile, Forbesganj in Araria emerged as the hottest district, recording a maximum temperature of 31.2°C. Daytime temperatures across the state currently range between 26°C and 31°C, which weather experts say is normal for this time of year.
Nighttime temperatures in several districts stood between 12.6°C and 18.4°C, and a further dip is expected in the coming days.
While the weather is likely to remain dry statewide for the next week, light to moderate fog may persist over parts of northern and eastern Bihar for the next two days, slightly affecting early morning visibility before clearing later in the day.
In Patna, residents will experience mild winter chills during the morning and evening, with clear skies and warm sunshine through the afternoon. Visibility is expected to remain normal in the capital as fog conditions remain unlikely.
