Patna: Web Journalists Association of India (WJAI) held an online meeting of its national general secretary and secretaries, where members discussed organisational expansion, accountability of office-bearers and measures for the timely resolution of members’ grievances.

According to the association, the meeting decided to organise an online meeting every month to hear members’ concerns and ensure their prompt resolution. The responsibility for coordinating these meetings has been assigned to national committee secretary Mithilesh Mishra and joint secretary Anamika Mondal.

Monthly Review Mechanism

The decision was taken following directions from WJAI national president Anand Kaushal. The association said the monthly meetings would provide a structured platform to address issues raised by members and review their resolution.

National general secretary Amit Ranjan instructed all secretaries and joint secretaries to discharge their responsibilities with full accountability and complete assigned tasks within stipulated timelines. He said every office-bearer would function in accordance with the organisation’s constitution and maintain organisational discipline.

Organisational Expansion Across States

As part of its expansion strategy, joint secretary Anamika Mondal has been entrusted with strengthening the organisation in West Bengal, Assam and Tripura through a membership drive.

She has been directed to increase membership by enrolling digital journalists in Assam and Tripura by August, while announcing the West Bengal state committee by next week.

Joint secretary Ravishankar Sharma has been assigned the responsibility of expanding membership in Jammu and Kashmir, Goa, Tamil Nadu and Kerala.

Meeting Attended by National Office-Bearers

The meeting was conducted by national general secretary Madhup Mani ‘Pikku’, who said review meetings on the organisation’s functioning and work plan would be held every month under the chairmanship of the national general secretary.

National treasurer Manjesh Kumar, secretaries Mithilesh Mishra and Vivek Kumar, joint secretaries Ravishankar Sharma and Anamika Mondal, office secretary Rambalak Rai and other members of the national committee were present at the meeting.
