Patna: A 37-year-old woman was allegedly attacked with an iron rod and other objects during an ongoing dispute over house construction in Sector 2 of Millat Colony, Phulwarisharif, on August 9.
The injured woman, identified as Alina Fatima, sustained a head injury and a severe injury to her hand. She was initially taken to a hospital for treatment and later referred to AIIMS Patna, where she is undergoing treatment.
Dispute Over House Construction
According to her statement to police, Fatima alleged that she had been harassed by the accused over the house construction dispute and had been assaulted three times before the latest incident.
She alleged that Bagahat Ali and Sifat Ali, among others, arrived at the scene on August 9 and assaulted her.
Fatima alleged that Bagahat Ali struck her on the head with an iron rod, causing a laceration. She was also allegedly beaten with the rod, bricks, stones, kicks and punches, resulting in a serious injury to her hand.
FIR Registered
Family members took Fatima to a hospital after the assault. Doctors later referred her to AIIMS Patna for advanced treatment because of the severity of her injuries.
The Phulwarisharif police have registered an FIR and launched an investigation into the incident. Police are examining the allegations and the roles of those named in the complaint.
Fatima has also sought protection and action against the accused, alleging repeated harassment and assaults.
