Patna: A large-scale blood donation camp was organised at the IAS Bhawan auditorium in Patna on Sunday to mark World Blood Donor Day, bringing together senior government officials, police personnel, forest department staff and voluntary donors in a campaign aimed at promoting lifesaving blood donation.
The event was jointly organised by the IAS Association, other All India Service Associations and their respective officers’ wives associations.
The camp was inaugurated with the lighting of a ceremonial lamp by Bihar Chief Secretary Pratyaya Amrit, Director General of Police (DGP) Vinay Kumar, Principal Chief Conservator of Forests Prabhat Kumar Gupta, Abhay Kumar, Surendra Singh, retired IAS officer V.S. Dubey, IAS Wives Association Secretary Harjot Kaur and IFS Wives Association President Richa Gupta.

“Blood Donation Is A Gift Of Life”
Addressing the gathering, Chief Secretary Pratyaya Amrit described blood donation as one of the highest forms of humanitarian service.
“Blood donation is a gift of life, and there is no nobler deed than this. It is a humanitarian act that grants a new lease of life to the needy without any financial cost,” he said.
He also praised the contribution of Maa Blood Center, which has been working in the field of blood donation and supply for the past six years.
According to the Chief Secretary, the organisation has helped provide lifesaving blood to thousands of patients and continues to play an important role in strengthening voluntary blood donation efforts in Bihar.
He urged citizens to donate blood regularly to help meet the growing demand for blood in hospitals and emergency situations.

Senior Officers Join Donation Drive
DGP Vinay Kumar described blood donation as a vital service to humanity and commended the participation of officers, staff and volunteers.
He said the event set an example for society and highlighted the importance of collective efforts in saving lives.
The programme was attended by officers from the Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Police Service (IPS) and Indian Forest Service (IFS), among others.
Voluntary donors included Additional Director General of Police Kundan Krishnan, Patna Municipal Commissioner Yashpal Meena, Patna DFO Piyush Baranwal, IFS officer S. Chandrashekhar, IAS officers Santosh Kumar Mall and Divesh Sehra, and IAS officer Nisha Mani.
Police personnel, Patna Zoo employees, forest guards and foresters also participated enthusiastically in the campaign.
190 Units Of Blood Collected
Maa Blood Center, operated by Maa Vaishno Devi Seva Samiti in Dariyapur, Patna, provided technical support for the camp.
The event was conducted under the guidance of IAS officer and Principal Secretary to Governor Deepak Kumar Singh and supervised by members of Maa Blood Center, including Mukesh Hisaria, Jai Prakash Amitabh, Sanjay Totla, Prakash Agarwal, Jagjivan Singh, Manish Banetia, Naresh Agarwal, Alok Agarwal, Saurabh Kumar, Pankaj Lahurka, Shambhu Keshari, Sunil Agarwal, Kanhaiya Agarwal, Rajesh Bajaj, Arvind Sahu, Arvind Anand, Anant Agarwal, Mukesh Kant, Vinay Bajaj and Amresh Agarwal, among others.
Organisers said a total of 190 donors contributed blood during the camp.

All donors were felicitated as “Raktveers” (blood heroes) in recognition of their contribution. Organisers described the event as a significant example of public service, community participation and commitment to saving lives through voluntary blood donation.
