Patna: Yamaha Motorcycle India has officially launched two new motorcycles in India — the Yamaha FZ-Rave and the Yamaha XSR155. The FZ-Rave comes with a price tag of Rs. 1.17 lakh (ex-showroom), while the XSR155 is priced at Rs. 1.50 lakh (ex-showroom).
The launches mark Yamaha’s continued effort to strengthen its presence in the 150cc motorcycle segment, offering models that cater to both young commuters and retro-style enthusiasts.
Yamaha FZ-Rave: Entry-Level Power and Style
The Yamaha FZ-Rave is powered by a 149cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine producing 12.2 bhp of power and 13.3Nm of torque, mated to a 5-speed gearbox.
Weighing just 136kg, the bike offers a 13-litre fuel tank, 790mm seat height, and 165mm ground clearance — striking a balance between comfort and control.
In terms of looks, the Rave gets a new LED headlamp, red alloy wheels, and comes in Black and Matte Green colour options. A compact LCD display, all-LED lighting, and single-channel ABS complete the feature list.
“The FZ-Rave aims to make Yamaha ownership more accessible,” the company said in its release. The pricing places it in direct competition with models like the Honda Unicorn (Rs.1.11 lakh) and Bajaj Pulsar 150 (Rs. 1.12 lakh).
Yamaha XSR155: Neo-Retro Brilliance with R15 DNA
The star of the launch, however, is the Yamaha XSR155 — a neo-retro roadster sharing its engine and chassis with the R15 and MT-15.
It runs on a 155cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine delivering 18.1 bhp at 10,000rpm and 14.1Nm of torque at 7,500rpm, paired with a 6-speed gearbox.
Built on Yamaha’s DeltaBox frame, the XSR features a USD front fork, monoshock rear, and weighs 137kg, slightly lighter than the MT-15. The 10-litre teardrop tank, round LED headlamp, and flat single-piece seat enhance its vintage charm while maintaining modern comfort.
Safety features include dual-channel ABS and traction control, though the bike opts for an LCD console instead of a TFT screen — similar to Yamaha’s FZ-X Hybrid and Fascino models.
Design Meets Emotion
With its blend of nostalgic aesthetics and cutting-edge performance, the XSR155 is poised to attract riders who value both style and substance.
“The XSR155 celebrates Yamaha’s timeless design philosophy — where retro styling meets contemporary performance,” a Yamaha spokesperson said during the unveiling.
Price and Availability
Both bikes are now available across Yamaha dealerships in India, with the company hinting at special introductory offers for early buyers.
The FZ-Rave, with its affordability, aims at daily riders, while the XSR155 targets enthusiasts seeking premium design and performance without a steep price tag.
