Patna: Seven students from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Patna have been offered jobs at Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) following a recent placement drive conducted by the company’s Central Research Laboratory (CRL-GAD) in Ghaziabad.
BEL, a Navratna company under the Ministry of Defence, plays a crucial role in India’s defence and technology sectors. The selected students include four from the MTech in Computer Science (CS) Engineering stream and three from the MTech in Artificial Intelligence (AI) stream.
According to IIT Patna’s training and placement officer, Kripa Shankar Singh, the selection process involved multiple stages, including a pre-placement talk, a written test, a technical interview, and a personal interview. He said the rigorous evaluation ensured that the best candidates were chosen to contribute to BEL’s ongoing projects.
The CRL of BEL in Ghaziabad is engaged in advanced research and development across critical technological domains. By recruiting from IIT Patna, BEL aims to tap into young talent to drive future innovation and growth.
IIT Patna director, Prof T N Singh, emphasized the institute’s commitment to enhancing career prospects for students by focusing on academic excellence and industry-relevant skills. Dean of Academics, Prof A K Thaur, along with A-Dean (Resource) Dr N K Tomar and Professor In-Charge CCDC, Dr Ashwani Assam, congratulated the selected students and commended the CCDC team for the smooth execution of the hiring process.
