Patna to Set Up 480 Free Drinking Water Stations Ahead of Summer

Patna : In preparation for the scorching summer months, the Patna Municipal Corporation (PMC) is rolling out free drinking water facilities at over 480 locations across the city. The initiative, set to launch by the end of March, aims to provide relief to residents and commuters at key public spaces, including bus stops and marketplaces.

Citywide Water Access

To ensure widespread access to clean drinking water, the PMC is installing 375 submersible pumps across all 75 city wards, with five locations designated per ward. The project is being implemented under the supervision of local councillors.

Aditional measures include:

75 dedicated hydration points, one in each ward.

10 mobile Neer water tankers, strategically placed at public locations.

20 water stations operated by women from the Swachhangini initiative.

Municipal Commissioner has instructed officials to expedite the installations so that the facilities are fully operational by the start of the summer season. The initiative aims to ensure that residents do not face water shortages as temperatures rise.
