Indian Railways Launches Special Holi Trains to Bihar to Ease Festive Rush

Patna : With Holi around the corner, Indian Railways has announced special train services to accommodate the surge of passengers traveling to Bihar. The move aims to ease congestion as thousands of migrant workers and families return home for the festival.

The additional trains will operate from key Bihar railway stations—including Danapur, Gaya, and Patna—to major cities such as Kota, Jabalpur, Anand Vihar, and Jalna. These services will run on select dates in early and mid-March.

 

Special Trains and Their Schedules
To ensure smoother travel, Indian Railways has introduced the following Holi special trains:

Rani Kamlapati – Danapur – Rani Kamlapati (Train No: 01661/01662)

Departure from Rani Kamlapati: 12 and 15 March
Return from Danapur: 13 and 16 March
Kota – Danapur – Kota (Train No: 09817/09818)

Departure from Kota: 8 and 15 March
Return from Danapur: 9 and 16 March
Gaya – Anand Vihar (Train No: 03697/03698)

Runs every Sunday from 6 to 31 March
Jalna – Patna (Train No: 07611/07612)

Runs on 6, 10, and 15 March
Jabalpur – Danapur (Train No: 01705/01706)

Runs on 11 and 12 March

Railways Urges Passengers to Book Early
Railway authorities have advised passengers to book their tickets in advance to avoid last-minute inconvenience. Travellers can check schedules and availability through the railway helpline number 139 or the National Train Enquiry System (NTES) web portal and mobile app.
