Muzaffarpur Depot Expands Fleet with 30 New Buses

Patna : The Bihar State Road Transport Corporation (BSRTC) has expanded its fleet in Muzaffarpur with the addition of 30 new buses, aiming to enhance passenger convenience and connectivity across the region. The new buses, each with a seating capacity of 40, will bring the total number of corporation-operated buses in the Muzaffarpur division to 195.
New Routes to Be Introduced
The BSRTC administration has submitted applications to the District Transport Office for the registration of these new buses. Once the process is completed, the authorities will determine operational routes across key districts under the division and initiate the permit process. The expansion is expected to improve bus services from Muzaffarpur to major destinations such as Patna, Darbhanga, Sitamarhi, Sheohar, and Motihari.
Modern Facilities for a Comfortable Journey
A senior official of BSRTC confirmed that the new buses have been provided by the headquarters, and registration is currently underway. He also highlighted that the fleet is equipped with modern facilities to ensure a comfortable travel experience for passengers.
Electric Buses on the Way
In a further boost to public transport, Muzaffarpur division is set to receive 50 electric buses under the PM e-Bus scheme. Ahead of their rollout, infrastructure improvements, including charging stations and dedicated electric feeders, are being developed at the depot.
Improved Travel Experience for Passengers
The new buses are expected to significantly enhance travel comfort, particularly during peak seasons such as festivals, when passenger numbers surge. Additionally, BSRTC has planned maintenance work for older buses to ensure continued safety and reliability in public transport.
