Bihar Pollution Control Board Stages Street Plays to Raise Awareness on Holika Dahan Pollution

Patna: Street plays highlighting the environmental impact of Holika Dahan were staged across Bihar as part of an awareness campaign led by the Bihar State Pollution Control Board. The initiative aims to educate the public about the harmful pollutants released during the festival, particularly from burning tyres, rubber, plastic, and other toxic materials.
On the second day of the campaign, performances were held at 48 locations across 12 districts, with street theatre used as a medium to engage communities. The campaign, which runs in two phases, will see 184 performances in total across 13 districts.
In Patna, five theatre groups will stage plays at four locations daily on March 12 and 13, covering a total of 40 sites. Officials hope the campaign will encourage people to adopt cleaner and more environmentally friendly practices during Holika Dahan.
