Notorious Criminal Lured from Home, Killed, and Buried with Acid: Body Recovered in Begusarai

Begusarai / Patna : The body of a man with a criminal record was found buried in a maize field in Begusarai after being called from his home and murdered. The deceased, identified as Deepak Kumar, also known as Chippu Singh (35), had nearly a dozen cases of murder, robbery, and extortion registered against him. His body was discovered in Ramdiri Choudhary Tola, under the jurisdiction of Matihani police station, on Tuesday.

Local reports suggest acid was poured over the body in an attempt to destroy evidence. Deepak, the son of Harekrishna Singh, a resident of Ramdiri Choudhary Patti, had been missing since the night of 16 March, when three men from the village reportedly called him out of his home. His family filed a missing person’s report at Matihani police station the following day.

Police Confirm Criminal Background

Begusarai Superintendent of Police (SP) Manish confirmed that Deepak’s body was discovered buried in a field approximately 500 metres from his home. “After killing Deepak, an attempt was made to decompose the body. The deceased had a criminal history, with multiple cases under the Arms Act, extortion, and other offences,” he said.

Upon receiving information about the incident, SP Manish visited the scene, accompanied by a forensic team and officers from Matihani police station, led by Sadar-1 DSP Subodh Kumar. The body was sent for post-mortem.

Family Claims Deepak Was Called Away and Killed

Family members said Deepak, who had been living in Delhi for the past three months, had returned home just 10 days before Holi. “On the night of 16 March, three people came to our house and took him away. After that, his phone went unanswered, and we were unable to reach him,” a family member said.

Deepak’s body showed visible injuries to the head and other parts, suggesting a brutal assault before his death. A local farmer discovered the body while working in the field.

Investigation Underway

The police have launched an investigation, examining both personal and criminal rivalries as possible motives. “A case of kidnapping was lodged by the family earlier. We are now investigating the murder and those involved,” SP Manish added.
