Patna Women’s College Hosts ‘Swaroop’ Attire and Headgear Competition on Bihar Divas

Patna: On the occasion of Bihar Divas, the Heritage Club of Patna Women’s College (Autonomous), in collaboration with the Department of History, organized Swaroop: An Attire and Headgear Competition on the theme “The Cultural History of India: Earliest to the 18th Century.” The competition showcased a vibrant display of historical attire and headgear, highlighting India’s rich cultural heritage.
The competition was judged by Devina Krishna, Assistant Professor, Department of English; Asha Pandey, Assistant Professor, Department of Fashion Designing; and Adweetiya Sinha, Assistant Professor, Department of Political Science. A total of 14 codes participated, demonstrating their creativity and confidence while presenting various historical regions. Participants not only wore the attires and headgears they prepared but also provided a brief description of the culture they represented.
Mahrukh Firdaus (Code 5) from the Department of History secured the first position, followed by Kriti Anand (Code 7) from the same department in second place. Suhani Mehta (Code 8) from the Department of Economics won the third position. The principal of Patna Women’s College, Sister M Rashmi A.C., attended the event to encourage and support the students’ efforts. Head of the Department of History, Sister Celine Crasta A.C., played a key role in guiding and ensuring the success of the competition.
The event was meticulously coordinated by Swati Sinha, Coordinator of the Heritage Club and Assistant Professor, Department of History. Faculty members from the Department of History were also present to witness the event. The program was moderated by Mariyum Fatima, Vice Premier of the Student Council 2024-25, while the vote of thanks was delivered by Prerna, a Semester IV student from the Department of History.
