Patna : Indian Railways Is Set To Introduce A New High-Speed Train Service Between Patna And Delhi, With The Upcoming Amrit Bharat Express Expected To Reduce Travel Time Significantly And Offer Enhanced Passenger Amenities At An Affordable Fare.
According To Multiple Media Reports, A Plan Has Been Finalised To Operate The Service Soon. The Train Will Run At A Speed Of Up To 130 Km/H And Complete The Journey Between Patna And The National Capital In Just 11 Hours, Making It One Of The Faster Options On The Busy Route.
Designed To Accommodate Around 1,500 Passengers, The Amrit Bharat Express Will Feature 22 Coaches, Including 11 General, Eight Sleeper, One Pantry Car And Two Luggage-Less Second-Class Reserved (LSRD) Coaches.
Railway Officials Have Said That The New Service Is Expected To Outperform Existing Trains On The Route — Including The Rajdhani Express, Sampoorna Kranti Express And Vande Bharat Express — In Terms Of Both Speed And Onboard Facilities.
Among The Modern Features Planned For The Train Are Mobile Charging Points At Every Seat, LED Information Boards, CCTV Surveillance, Bio-Vacuum Toilets With Sensor Taps, And More Comfortable Seating.
The Amrit Bharat Express Is Already In Operation On The Darbhanga–Anand Vihar Terminal Route In Bihar, Where It Has Been Well Received. Ticket Prices On That Route Start At Just ₹35 For A 50 Km Journey, With Similar Affordability Expected For The Patna–Delhi Leg.
The New Service Comes Amid Rising Demand For Travel Between Patna And Delhi, Fuelled By The Large Number Of Students And Workers Commuting Between The Two Cities. Despite Regular Additions To The Rail Network, Demand Has Continued To Outstrip Supply — Prompting Indian Railways To Invest In Faster, Higher-Capacity Trains.
