Samastipur /Patna : Police have arrested a man accused of killing his daughter in what appears to be a so-called honour killing, before hiding her body in the bathroom of their home for three days.

The incident took place in Tada village in the Mohiuddinnagar area of Samastipur district. The suspect, identified as Mukesh Singh, allegedly strangled his 25-year-old daughter Sakshi after luring her back home under the pretext of reconciliation, according to police.

Sakshi had reportedly eloped with her partner and was believed to be living in Delhi. Police said her father contacted her and promised she would not be harmed if she returned home. Upon her arrival, Singh allegedly killed her and concealed her body in the family’s bathroom.

The crime came to light when Sakshi’s mother, suspicious of her daughter’s absence and her husband’s inconsistent statements, alerted relatives and eventually informed the police.
