Patna : The Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) is set to begin the 70th Combined Main Examination tomorrow, with over 21,000 candidates scheduled to take part. This important exam, which will fill 2,034 positions across various departments, will run from April 25 to April 30, with exams held in two shifts each day.
Examination Controller Rajesh Kumar Singh confirmed that the test will be conducted over five days, with candidates required to arrive at their respective centers one hour before the scheduled time. The commission has issued admit cards to all eligible candidates, who will face a series of papers designed to assess their suitability for government roles in Bihar.
Examination Schedule:
The exam will consist of multiple subjects, with General Hindi and Essay being held on April 25, General Studies first paper on April 26, and General Studies second paper on April 28. On April 29, candidates will take the optional subject for Child Development Project Officer, followed by the optional subject for Financial Administrative Officer on April 30.
In a notable update, candidates are permitted to use a normal calculator for Mathematics, Statistics, and General Studies papers, a decision aimed at alleviating difficulties faced by candidates during the exam.

BPSC has also issued critical instructions for candidates, especially regarding the admit card. Those whose photographs or signatures are unclear on their admit cards must complete a format available on the commission’s website and seek approval from the centre superintendent. Additionally, candidates are required to paste a colored photograph, signed by a gazetted officer, on the declaration form and sign in both Hindi and English.
For identity verification, candidates must bring one of the following documents: PAN card, Aadhaar card, or driving license. Entry will be permitted only after the centre head verifies the candidate’s credentials.
