Third Arrest Made in Patna Double Murder Case

Patna: Police in Patna have arrested a third suspect in connection with the brutal double murder that shocked the Vikram area of the city earlier this month. Rahul Kumar, also known as ‘Jallad’ (the Executioner), was taken into custody in what authorities are calling a significant breakthrough in the ongoing investigation.

The murders, which took place on June 10 in the Vikram police station area, are believed to have stemmed from a long-standing land dispute and personal enmity between two families. According to investigators, the killings were an act of revenge linked to a two-year-old case in which the recently deceased victims were accused of murdering a local watchman. In retaliation, members of the watchman’s family are alleged to have carried out the latest attack.

Police have so far arrested three men: Sujeet Kumar (28), Randhir Paswan (32), and now Rahul Kumar. However, officials say a total of nine individuals were involved in the killings, and several suspects remain at large.

“A total of nine people were involved in the case,” said Bhanu Pratap Singh, City SP (West). “Three have been arrested, and five are still absconding. Multiple raids are being carried out to apprehend the remaining accused.”

The murders, carried out with sharp weapons, sparked panic across the local community. The victims were reportedly targeted and killed in a particularly violent manner. However, swift police action appears to have brought a measure of reassurance to residents.

Several teams have been deployed to track down the absconding suspects, with police relying on informant networks and surveillance to gather leads. Authorities have vowed to bring all those involved to justice.
