Man Arrested in Begusarai for Threatening Chirag Paswan with Bomb Attack

Police arrested Mohammad Meraj in Begusarai for allegedly threatening Union Minister Chirag Paswan with a bomb attack.

Patna: A man who allegedly threatened to blow up Chirag Paswan, the Food Processing Minister in the Modi government and National President of the Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas), has been arrested in Bihar.

Police identified the accused as Mohammad Meraj, who was detained from Teghra in Begusarai district. The arrest was made by Samastipur police, who then handed him over to Patna police for further investigation. Officials said an FIR had been registered at Patna Cyber Police Station following the threat.

According to police, Meraj is being interrogated to ascertain who instructed him to threaten the Union Minister and whether others were involved in the plot. Authorities stated that anyone found connected during questioning would also face arrest.

The investigation began after Chirag Paswan received threats warning of a bomb attack. Police said the clue that led to Meraj’s arrest came during technical surveillance but declined to disclose further details due to the ongoing probe.
