Bihar Emerges as Industrial Hotspot Under Nitish Kumar’s Leadership

Patna: Bihar’s Chief Minister Nitish Kumar chaired a crucial cabinet meeting on Tuesday, during which 30 key proposals were approved in a move widely seen as a major pre-election development push. The meeting, held at the Cabinet Hall of the Chief Secretariat, underscored the state government’s focus on infrastructure expansion, employment generation and administrative strengthening in the lead-up to the 2025 assembly elections.

Among the proposals cleared was a significant boost for the Patna Metro project, described by officials as a “major gift” to the capital. While details of the metro-related agenda were not immediately disclosed, its approval is expected to accelerate progress on one of Bihar’s most anticipated urban infrastructure ventures.

The approved agendas spanned a wide range of sectors, including new job appointments, industrial development, and social welfare schemes. The government said the measures reflect a structured approach towards “development and class empowerment,” aligning with its broader political and economic objectives.

With elections looming, the Nitish Kumar-led administration appears to be intensifying efforts to project governance and growth as central themes of its campaign narrative.
