Patna: The Bihar government is working fast to improve sports facilities across the state. It has built modern sports buildings in 25 districts, and construction is nearly complete in 13 more. These buildings have been designed to provide training, gym facilities, and competition spaces under one roof. Soon, districts like Munger, Kaimur, Buxar, Supaul, and Begusarai will also get new sports complexes.
Each building has the office of the District Sports Officer, an air-conditioned meeting room with 50 seats, and a fully equipped gym with high-quality machines. There are also separate changing rooms for boys and girls and a large multi-purpose hall. Indoor sports like Taekwondo, Wushu, Fencing, Table Tennis, Weightlifting, and Kabaddi can be trained and organised here. Officials said this will strengthen sports activities at the local level.
The Sports Department has approved Rs 10.26 crore more to improve these complexes. With this money, RO water purifiers, generator sets, CCTV cameras, and sign boards will be installed. This will ensure safety and make the buildings more useful for players.
According to the department, these sports complexes are being built under the Chief Minister Sports Development Scheme. The aim is to find hidden sports talents in Bihar and give them a better platform and recognition at the national level. The government believes this step will take Bihar’s sports culture to new heights.
