Pushpam Priya Choudhary’s The Plurals Party to Contest All 243 Bihar Seats, Challenges Alliances to Name Woman CM Face
Pushpam Priya Choudhary’s The Plural Party announced it will contest all 243 Bihar Assembly seats, with Choudhary herself considering Darbhanga, while challenging both NDA and INDIA alliances to declare a woman as their Chief Ministerial candidate, symbolizing her protest with a mask she vows to remove if a woman CM face is named.

Patna: Pushpam Priya Choudhary’s The Plurals Party (TPP) has officially announced its full-fledged preparations for the upcoming Bihar Assembly Elections 2025. Addressing a press conference at a hotel on Saturday, TPP Chief Pushpam Priya declared that her party will contest all 243 seats in Bihar, and she herself is considering contesting from Darbhanga, citing it as her “regional home.”
A central theme of her address was a direct challenge to both the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) and the INDIA alliance. “The way all the parties talk about women, talk about women empowerment, why don’t those parties… talk about making a woman CM face or a woman Chief Minister as the Chief Minister?” she questioned. Choudhary emphasized the demographic reality, stating, “When 50 percent of the population is women, then these parties should declare the next Chief Minister as a woman.”
The Mask and the Whistle Symbol
Responding to questions about her distinctive mask, Pushpam Priya Choudhary explained its significance. She recalled that after her defeat in the 2020 elections, critics suggested she was “not worth showing her face” and accused her of leveraging her appearance. “That’s why I started wearing a mask,” she stated, adding a condition for its removal: “If any party brings forward a woman as the Chief Minister, then she will remove the mask.”
Choudhary also announced that the Election Commission has allotted the whistle as her party’s election symbol, which she symbolically described as “the whistle of Bihar’s development.” Party general secretary Anupam Suman and other leaders were present at the press conference.
