Muzaffarpur: Political strategist-turned-activist Prashant Kishor launched a scathing attack on Congress leader Rahul Gandhi ahead of his planned visit to Bihar, accusing him of attempting to “fool people for votes” ahead of the elections.
Speaking at a public meeting in Saraiya, Muzaffarpur, as part of his ongoing Bihar Badlaav Yatra, Kishor questioned Gandhi’s political sincerity, asking: “Where was he when unemployed youth were wandering door to door or when migrants walked home during Covid?” He added that Gandhi had done little to address unemployment or improve the state’s education system. “These leaders have ruled for over four decades, and Bihar has turned into a labour-exporting state. People won’t fall for their tricks anymore,” he said.

Kishor also responded to Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary, who recently dismissed him as a “novice leader”. Sarcastically endorsing the remark, Kishor said: “Yes, we are new in politics, but at least we don’t have experience in corruption, kidnapping, and extortion like the veteran politicians of Bihar.”
On the state government’s flurry of welfare announcements, Kishor claimed credit for spurring change. “For 20 years, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar gave only Rs 400 to the elderly. After Jan Suraj‘s announcement, it was raised to Rs 1,000. This is the power of the people,” he said.
Drawing a mythological parallel, he concluded: “We are like Jamwant, here to awaken the Hanuman in the people of Bihar. Vote for those who think about your children’s future.”
