Ara: Tej Pratap Yadav, independent MLA from Hasanpur and elder son of Lalu Prasad , was seen sowing paddy alongside women farmers during a grassroots outreach visit in Ara, Bhojpur district. Currently on a Jan Samvad Yatra, Yadav stopped in the Shahpur Assembly area, stepped into the waterlogged fields dressed in white kurta-pajama and a yellow cap, and joined farmers in transplanting paddy.
Tej Pratap shared the video of this interaction on social media, noting that he paused his journey to check in on the well-being of women working in the fields. “I stopped on the way and inquired about the well-being of the farmer women who were planting paddy. I also planted paddy with them,” he said.

This public gesture comes amid his announcement to contest the upcoming Bihar Assembly election from Mahua in Vaishali district. In a recent address in Bihiya, he also declared Madan Yadav as the official candidate from Shahpur, currently represented by RJD MLA Rahul Tiwari alias Mantu Tiwari.
Tej Pratap, who has been estranged from both the Rashtriya Janata Dal and his family, reiterated that he has moved past political and personal setbacks. “Those who threw me out of the party — God will take care of them. I want to live among the people and fight elections,” he said.
