Patna: The Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR), under the Ministry of External Affairs, has launched a contemporary art exhibition at the Passport Seva Kendra (PSK) in Patliputra, Patna. Running from August 25 to September 25, the exhibition, titled Whispers of Imagination: Showcasing Diverse Voices in Contemporary Art, features paintings from 15 prominent artists from Bihar.
This initiative marks the second series of art displays at the regional passport office, following a month-long exhibition of folk paintings, Saha-Loka. The exhibition aims to bring contemporary art into public spaces, offering visitors—estimated at around 1,500 daily—a chance to engage with works typically seen only in galleries.
“Art is often confined to galleries and private collections. This exhibition brings it to the public, fostering interest and appreciation among the people of Bihar,” said Swadha Rizvi, Regional Passport Officer and senior Indian Foreign Service official. While the exhibition primarily serves passport applicants, special visits can be arranged in advance by contacting the exhibition coordinator.
Whispers of Imagination showcases a wide spectrum of media and themes, exploring questions of identity, memory, and human connection. The works collectively create a vibrant dialogue, encouraging viewers to reflect on contemporary life while highlighting the power of collaborative creativity.
