Sheikhpura: Indian Railways has announced a special Amrit Bharat train from Sheikhpura to Delhi to help passengers during the festive season. The train will run from 23 September to 25 November 2025, covering the busy period of Dussehra, Diwali and Chhath. The service will start from Bhagalpur every Wednesday and return from Delhi every Tuesday, with a halt at Sheikhpura Junction.
According to the timetable, the train will leave Delhi at 11am on Tuesday, reach Sheikhpura at 6.20am the next day and Bhagalpur at 10.30am. On its return journey, it will depart Bhagalpur at 1.40pm on Wednesday, stop at Sheikhpura at 4.58pm and reach Delhi at 3.30am the following morning. Railways has also planned more special trains from Howrah and Kolkata to manage heavy passenger traffic.
At the same time, some trains will be cancelled due to non-interlocking work at Raigarh station. These include the Malda Town–Surat Express, Surat–Malda Town Express, Vasco da Gama–Jharkhand Express and the Bilaspur–Patna Express on selected dates. Officials said the cancellations are part of work to upgrade railway infrastructure.
To provide further relief, Danapur division has also started Puja special trains. A Buxar–Kiul service will run six days a week until 29 November, stopping at stations like Ara, Patna and Mokama. Another Puja train will run between Danapur and Jhajha. Extra coaches have been added so that common passengers can get seats more easily.
