Grand Alliance Announces ‘Jan Vishwas Maharally’ on March 3 at Gandhi Maidan
Patna: The Grand Alliance has declared its intent to display solidarity and mobilize supporters through the upcoming ‘Jan Vishwas Maharally’ scheduled for March 3 at Gandhi Maidan in Patna. Key leaders including Congress’s Rahul Gandhi, RJD’s Lalu Prasad, Leader of Opposition Tejashwi Prasad Yadav, and Communist Party of India’s General Secretary D Raja are slated to headline the event.
In anticipation of the rally, preparations are in full swing, evident in the bustling activities surrounding Tejashwi’s Jan Vishwas Yatra. The Congress and Left parties, integral members of the grand alliance, are actively engaging in mobilizing supporters for the event. Tejashwi, during his yatra, is fervently urging attendees to mark their presence in Patna for the grand rally.
Akhilesh Singh, Congress state president, has boldly predicted a turnout of over 10 lakh attendees. He cited the prevalent discontent among the populace following Nitish Kumar’s departure from the Grand Alliance, asserting that this disillusionment would manifest in significant numbers at the rally. Singh emphasized the collective aim of the people of Bihar to challenge the incumbent BJP government.
In a collaborative effort, leaders from all constituent parties of the Grand Alliance convened at the RJD office for a joint meeting chaired by RJD state president Jagdanand Singh. The consensus reached during the meeting solidified the decision to hold the ‘Jan Vishwas Maharally’ as a demonstration of unity in safeguarding democracy and constitutional values.
During a subsequent press conference, Grand Alliance leaders outlined the rally’s agenda, which encompasses a comparative analysis between the coalition’s 17-month governance and the preceding 17-year tenure, alongside discussions on pertinent issues such as the caste census and proposed 75 percent reservation system in Bihar.
In a scathing critique, the alliance leaders attributed the political upheaval to vested interests prioritizing power over development, employment, and social welfare initiatives. They vowed to confront the challenges posed by such divisive politics and reaffirmed their commitment to restoring the Grand Alliance’s governance in Bihar.
